  ——楼外排队(和报名时一样);
  ——进第一预备室(大队人马上好几层楼);
  ——等待(不用紧张^_^ );
  ——进第二预备室(一次放进十到二十人);
  ——抽考题纸(一共就可数的几类考题纸,就是说,有好几个人抽到的题是一样的);
  ——读题、理解、消化和思考,准备回答问题(大概有五分钟到十分钟时间,记不清了);
  ——进考场(一次一人,面对两个老师),回答问题,和老师对话;
  第一题,在预备教室内默读考题纸上的一小段对话,准备到考试教室就对话内容回答几道问题(由老师口头提问);
  第二题,考题纸上给出了三种情景,准备回答就如何应对其中一个情景的问题(只考其中一个情景,但都要准备);

  I.Prepare yourself to read the following dialogue and answer some questions about it. .
  Interviewer: Do you think the public schools are a good thing or a bad thing, Mr. Martin?
  Mr. Martin, I think it's a very much a bad thing. You see, I totally disagree with the idea that anyone should be about to buy their children a better education than another. The thing is the public schools help to keep the idea of a ruling elite alive and work against social change. I think I would like to see all private schools absorbed into the state education system and every child allowed the chance of the same education. There is a very strong argument that the pressure of those parents whose children at present go to public schools would soon bring about a great improvement in the state system.
  Interviewer: Mrs. Jones, do you agree with Mr. Martin?
  Mrs. Jones: No, I don't. I think public schools are a good thing. You see, if we could afford it , my husband and I would send our sons to a public school when they reach secondary school age. I think public schools finish them off, burn them into gentlemen, and give them a good start in life. The good thing about public schools is that those who go to a public school can mix with other children who come from good backgrounds. The only thing I can think of against them is that only very few public schools are co-educational. It’s a shame, isn't it? I mean, mixing with both **es from a very early age is a good thing, particularly when boys don’t have a sister.
  Ⅱ。Three situations are given below. You will be required to respond to them in the examination.
  1. You are talking to one of your friends about diet. He or she suggests that people should eat less, but you don't agree. What do you say?
  2. Your employer thinks you've done an excellent job on a difficult assignment. How would you respond to his or her compliment?
  3. You are watching an interesting TV program, but all of a sudden, there is a power failure. What do you say?
  Ⅲ。Go over the following topics carefully and be prepared to speak for about 3 minutes on either of the. You may make notes on a piece of ** and refer to them during your talk, but you mush not write out the complete talk and simply read it aloud.
  1. Nowadays wherever we travel in Beijing, we find foreign restaurants which offer Japanese food , American food or other foreign food. What are your views on foreign food? What kind of foreign food do you like or dislike?
  2. We often find public places littered with old cans, empty bottles and especially plastic bags. What effects does littering have on the environment? What do you think we should do to stop people from littering?
  I.Question on the dialogue:
  1. What are public schools in Britain? Why do some parents send their children to public schools?
  2. What are Mr. Martin's views on public schools?
  3. Does Mrs. Jones agree with him? What does she think of public schools.
  4. Are all the schools in our country of one type, or are there different kinds?
  5. If there are different kinds, in what way is one school different from another?
  II.Possible responses:
  1. I don't agree that people should eat less. I think people should have a balanced diet if they want to lead a healthy life.
  2. Thanks. That's very kind of you to say so.
  3. a. Oh, Dear!
  b. Oh no! How awful!
  c. Damn it!
